OPATest
OPATest is based on well-founded science and principles. A Continuous Performance Test, CPT, is presented on the mobile unit. Various symbols are flashed on to the screen and the task is to respond (by tapping the screen) to certain symbols (targets), and to not respond to other symbols (non-targets). Although a simple task, its limited amusement factor makes it difficult for some to keep up the attention causing erratic responses to be more frequent. Psychologist have used variations of this type of tests, since the 1950’s for assessment of attention.Since hyperactivity may be an important part of the total problem for some disorders, OPATest utilize the technology of accelerometers and gyros already included in all smartphones today. Systems addressing the three entities Inattention, Impulsivity and Activity, simultaneously and has proven to add valuable information to the assessment through numerous of published scientific papersIn the future, it is expected that several new input sources (sensors) will be used to gain more information during the tests, and Opatus eagerly follows this development.
Attention measures
OPATest will tell you how often you miss to tap on the screen when targets are present. Such errors are considered to be inattentive events. You have not managed to be sufficient attentive to respond, or is too bored to care.
Impulsivity measures
OPATest will tell you how often you tap on the screen when no targets are present. Such errors are considered to be impulsive events. You have not managed to inhibit the urge to tap, or have responded too fast (without thinking).
Activity measures
OPATest records how you have moved the mobile around in the 3D space during the test, and will tell you the length of the path moved when finished. Some sit very still, some move vividly during the entire test.
Reaction time
Some are fast responders, some are slow.
Reaction time variation
Some are very consistent, some have periods of high attention mixed up with low attentive periods.
Diagnoses
Diagnoses (optional) can be specified through ICD, DSM, colloqual, or by own definitions.
Medications
Medications (optional) can be specified through generic name, brand name, or by own definitions.
Questionnaires
Some different questionnaires may be included.
Audio feedback
Tap responses have audio feedback so you know when a response is registered.
